Ani Empowerment Group exists to uplift and empower the community through literacy, community development and entrepreneurship. We believe a focus on these areas will build people's capacity to live their best lives.

Our organization was founded by an educator and business owner who together have over 30 years of experience working with young people and in the community. Built on love, research, and results, Ani Empowerment Group works with volunteers, businesses and other non-profits to provide literacy support, home buyers, entrepreneurial and financial literacy workshops, and consulting services in the Chicagoland area.
LITERACY
Increasing numbers of middle school and high school aged students are reading below grade level or are struggling to read and write in discipline-specific ways. The lack of achievement in literacy has been labeled by some as a crisis (Alvermann, 2009; Buehl, 2007; Jacobs, 2008; Moje, Overby, Tysvaer, & Morris, 2008). Struggling adolescent readers fall behind in school and are not ready for college and careers. Ani Empowerment Group partners with Literacy for Life, LLC to support adolescent readers through community workshops and events and in the schools supporting teachers and administrators with their approaches to improving literacy learning and achievement.
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
Our community development programs focus on property ownership as a way to build wealth within the community. Ani Empowerment Group offers free real estate related and financial literacy workshops and courses to the community. All are welcomed. ENTREPRENEURSHIP
Ani Empowerment Group is a proud partner of the Black Male Real Estate Expo (BMREE). Ani Empowerment and BMREE host an annual event focused on career pathways in real estate, construction and technology. The event connects young Black men to Black business owners in these industries providing opportunities for mentorship, apprenticeships, and networking. While the focus is on Black males, all are always welcome.
